The revised Men's Axis jacket from Berghaus is aimed at the serious mountaineer who's looking for a high performance 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell garment whilst keeping weight to an absolute minimum. The Axis Jacket features Berghaus's proprietary new lightweight hood system, which provides the benefits of a full mountain hood with an innovative foldaway system for when the hood isn't required.The centre front zip benefits from a double storm flap covering ensuring that the elements are kept on the outside. Pockets are taken care of by 2 external zipped offerings that sit high enough to be unobtrusive when using a harness or rucksack waist belt. There's also a handy internally zipped security pocket and a map pocket under the front stand to boot.

Gore-Tex Pro Shell is the top end Gore-Tex fabric, designed for the more demanding conditions and comes in 2 and 3 layer varieties. Gore-Tex Pro Shell has improved abrasion resistance through a careful selection of outer fabrics, with any heat insulation layers suspended freely between the laminate and inner lining on 2 layer fabric and a special, high performance membrane and specially developed inner lining on 3 layer fabrics. Targeted at the outdoor professional Gore-Tex Pro Shell is the most hard wearing of the Gore fabrics. |

Great product
Love it! Great colour, very light weight, very waterproof and practical. One feature I really like is the hood and how easy it is to unpack and pack away. Pop a few buttons and your done. It's very tidy!

Great jacket
I am studying Geological Science and we do a lot of field work. So I was in search for a good weather proof jacket, which could hold rain for hours. Already had few jackets which became wet after few hours (no Goretex).
So I decided to buy the Berghaus Axis or the ME Morpheus. Since I had few clothes from Berghaus I knew their quality was nice. The pro shell fabric does a good job. For example, under tab water the jacket shows no friction to water and does act like a lotus leaf.
The hood will also give you superb defence against the elements. What else: 2 large side pockets: my 500ml water bottle will fit easily. 1 large Map/magazine pocket, which has superior weather protection. The Axis is also good for the city. It has a cool and nice fit. I am 174cm in height and size M was just right. Combined with a fleece etc. it is tough at any weather.
Now I just call the Axis "The all weather proof jacket"
Hope the Berghaus jacket will protect me during my studies and beyond.
