The Blencathra Jacket is designed and cut longer in length offering full protection against the rigours of the British weather. Quickly zip in a Berghaus compatible IA fleece for added insulation and day-long comfort and warmth before setting off in Wainwrights footsteps across the fells.Plenty of well designed and thought out features enhance what is already a welcome addition to the Berghaus wardrobe. The snag free internal dry mesh lining really aids the overall feel to the Blencathra IA and the roll-away hood includes a simple volume adjuster to help keep the face protected from the elements. All three external pockets including the two hand warmers are zipped for added security and protection, while the single internal pocket is designed to easily fit your OS maps.

I'd looked around at other jackets, but really fancied a Berghaus. Some of the prices of these jackets seemd a bit expensive for what i'll be using my jacket for. I went for the Blencathra with an added micro fleece. It does everything you'd expect and hope for. Warm, waterproof, and up to anything the Shropshire hills can throw at me. Off to try it out in Snowdonia over the coming winter.....can't wait.

Dry when its wet
I bought this after years of expensive Gore-tex jackets and it is just as good if not better. It has poured since I got it and I've stayed dry. At first I thought the hood lacked a closure to keep it up in strong winds but the 2 toggles interlink and are better than a bit of velcro. Really good value for money.
