The material is Gore Paclite, which has the benefit of being very packable and lightweight – as the name suggests. The jacket has a good set of essential features. Firstly the fit is comfortably close, while freedom of movement in the sleeves is superb. The tail is extended for extra protection when bent over handlebars, while the front zip gets a double stormflap and the zip pockets a single stormflap, which all helps keep the wearer dry. You get two very deep chest pockets that can be accessed while wearing a rucksack, and they easily take maps too. The pockets are mesh-lined for added ventilation opportunities. The hood is a good rolldown design. What’s even more impressive is that in 2008 it was £160, but now it is now £10 cheaper. Add in a weight of 364g and this is mega value.
