The Gregory Z 55 Rucksack is the workhorse of our backpacking ventilated line, this durable yet lightweight pack carries like a dream. Thru-hikes, lightweight three day weekend, or trips to the crag are just a few places you’ll enjoy wearing this updated classic. All in all a very versatile backpack which can be taken anywhere which is why it won the Best Of Adventure Gear in 2007.Gregory advise a comfort load zone of 18 kg for the Z55 as it features the LTS suspension which is a lightweight ventilation system and it works by eliminating any unnecessary contact between you and the pack so creating air ways to ventilate and keep you cool. A Dual density foam lumbar pad correctly transfers the weight of the pack to your hips while a hollow aluminium stay creates support for heavier loads.
Pack Size
In order to purchase the correct size Gregory pack for your torso you should measure the length between the C7 Vertebra (at the base of your neck) to the spot on your lower back where your spine meets the bony hip structure called the Illiac crest. This will ensure a perfect fit and make the load carrying a pleasurable experience. If you are between frame sizes then you should always go for the smaller size.

Rip Stop - This is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern. It is woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Ripstop is used in construction of hot air balloons and yacht sails but in this case very effectively on outdoor clothing. |
