Having bought these in September I waited to give them a proper trial and here we are in February 2012 in the middle of a cold snap and I can safely say they are comfortable and warm. As a dog walker I use them 3 times a day and whilst it's no more than 4/5 miles a day, it's EVERY day, come wind rain snow etc. The wide fitting gives room for thermal socks, yet not so big that normal socks can't be worn. The grip is good in both snow and mud and, if allowed I would wear them around the house. I have no problem keeping them securely done up and strongly recommend them.REVIEW BY: Greeco10

great product...I`m a postman of 15 years so I know a thing or two about boots...these are the best in 15 years...the only boot that lasted for 6 seasons...normally I`m lucky if I get three and often only get 2 seasons from inferior products. Comfort and style.
What a comfortable shoe!
I have a few pairs of Keens shoes / boots, and so I was expecting a comfortable shoe from the outset.
I was not wrong! These felt great from putting them on the very first time! Great solid footing and a waterproof shoe too!

Placed order and received goods within a couple of days. Wore them around the house to break them in but there was really no need as they fit like gloves. I have had a pair that I have been wearing nearly everyday for the last 18 months. The grips have gone now but the build quality of the upper shoe remains in very good order. Doing this review for my friend, he never reviews, but since he got his Keen Targhee II walking shoes he's been beaming and saying things like "I feel like I could walk forever". I've never seen him be passionate about footwear before (he's over 50 so he's had plenty of shoes). It was a vile day yesterday and all he wanted to do was put on waterproofs so he could go out in his Keens, he's like a kid again.He especially loves the extra width and the space in the toe area. His only concern is that he has fallen arches and says the insole is a little high but that the overall feel is so good he doesn't care about that and feels it'll mold to his shape.

Advice to go 1/2 a size bigger than your normal shoe size is spot on for me. Fitting is also wide, as advised, which makes toe end of shoe very comfortable and ankle end looser than a "normal" shoe. Good firm rugged feel to this shoe; I love it.(Also colour of actual shoe pretty much as pic).REVIEW BY: simon h

If you have wider than normal feet, as I do, then these are definitely the walking shoes for you. They make an excellent approach shoe and have performed well across fairly boulder- and root-strewn Alpine paths.I've worn quite a few different makes of shoe (North Face, Raichle, Meindl) and these Keens, although perhaps less well-known, are at least equal in build quality and comfort. I'm so happy with them that I've bought these as a second pair and intend to buy more.
Only downsides: I imagine that if you have normal/narrow feet that these might feel a bit "sloppy". They also seem to be slightly more slippery than other shoes I've worn on smooth, wet surfaces, such as city pavements.

As reliable as ever
I'm a big Keen fan and these shoes are as good as you'd expect, and look good too. Very well built and comfortable, very secure when you're in them. They took very little time to break in, are really quick to take on and off, and the laces stay done up without loads of extra knots. Don't know about the waterproofing yet, but no reason to doubt it'll work.
The usual excellent service from Webtogs too. Thanks.

Comfortable walkers
Comfortable, roomy, wide fit shoe. I bought these as I have problems finding shoes to fit my wide feet.
Has a good non slip sole. The only possible long term problems could be the fabric lace eyelets and the waterproof skin which in my experience rapidly creases and splits. So far it is looking good and if all holds out I would definitely buy another pair.

Shoes feel wider than other walking shoes I have owned. Lace fastening technique does however overcome this issue and they seem very comfortable so far in the relatively short time I have been wearing them.r

Great when you get used to them!

After reading many reviews, ordered an 8.5 instead of my usual 8, which proved a good move. An 8 would have toes right up against the reinforced cap. I've had them about 2 weeks now and feel more able to give an opinion.As mentioned elsewhere, the heel feels 'loose' and there is movement - initially unusual, but as there is no 'rub', i've gotten to see a benefit. The slight lift of the foot within the shoe seems to lessen the impact on hitting the floor again, and what with the Keen suspension, it makes for a comfortable ride to the extent that other walking footwear now feels very constrained. The support in the footbed needs some 'walking in', but i can now see why these shoes have got so many fans - I had 8 months out from walking with Plantar Fasciitis, and have got very careful about footwear - these'll do!
