Product Description
The Keen Newport Sandals are the original waterproof sandals that launched Keen Footwear on to the outdoor world stage. Originally designed by Martin Keen, he wanted to make a sandal that stopped his toes getting bashed around whilst out and about on his boat. The result of this design was the Keen Newport with it's recognisable toe bumper. The Newports were designed with water in mind and they are never happier than messing about on the river or fording a stream. That's not to say The Keen Newports can't cope with anything else, they are a supremely comfortable pair of sandals whatever activity you are doing.The Keen Newport Sandals feature a supper grippy outsole that has multi-directional lugs with razor siping. This siping breaks the surface of any film of water giving unbelievable grip on anything wet. If you are going to be in the sea regularly, you may want to look at the Newport H2's which are saltwater resistant, but these leather Newports will be great if you are in the sea on the odd occasion. Smell wise you needn't worry as you have an AEGIS microbe shield and Microban built in to the footbed, but if thats not enough, you can just pop them in the washing machine even though they are leather!
The Keen Newport Sandals also feature an EVA metatomical molded footbed, in plain English, they mould themselves to your feet and are amazingly comfy. The patented toe bumper is immediately recognisable as part of the Keen family, and after you stub your toes the first time with no ill effects, you will wonder why you didn't get a pair of Newport sandals before!
Whatever you will be doing in your Keen Newports, you will find it hard to go back to ordinary sandals once these have graced your feet!

Tech details
Weight: 394g / 14ozFit Tip: Exceptionally wide fitting, Keen are both rather wide but also a touch shorter than most normal brands. If you swing between two sizes, always take the larger of them for Keen.

RUBBER: Doesn't leave a mark wherever it goes
UPPER: Lovely natural leather.
Keen Patented Toe Protection: Keep those pinkies safe with the large rubber bumper that goes over the toes
AEGIS Microbe Shield controls the bacteria and fungi that makes sandals go wiffy. Nothing damaged the environment whilst doing this.
Metatomical Footbed Design: This cuddles both feet naturally with loads of support for the arches.

Most comfortable sandal I have ever had
The first time I bought these I bought a half size too small. However Webtogs were fantastic in organising a replacement pair. Now I have the best sandals I have ever had and can walk miles in comfort

Great walking sandals

Fantastic product, I have to confess this is my second pair. On the first pair, one of the leather lace loops wore away after 5 years go anywhere do anything usage (beach, mountain walking and scrambling, mountain biking, in the wet and dry, oh and also after washing - down the pub). The second pair are a better colour, Gargoyle/Bossa Nova, or if you are a man a very light greeney grey (not available 5 years ago) they also feel a slightly better fit, I ordered a half size bigger compared with what I would class as my normal size (as recommended on the keen website), and they fit perfectly. Yes they are not cheap compared with other sandals but these are not like other sandals.REVIEW BY: Catterall Barney

First bought a pair for these in Spring 2007, and have since worn them for walking, (light) climbing, gardening, cycling, and going to the pub. And everything else in between.
That pair started to show signs of wear after four years of very hard labour, and they'd been so good, I just bought an identical pair to replace them.
Downside? Well, I've got strange suntan marks on my feet - they are striped like a tiger - but apart from that, none at all.

Lives up to expectations
I have used my first pair of Newports daily for 6 -7 yrs. They offer exc.support, comfort and breathability. My recent replacement pair have felt even more comfortable from day one, they seem easier to get on/off, have there been some slight tweaks to the design?The colour is also nicer than my original 'olive green' ones.Brilliant!

Despite everyone saying the Keens run very wide, they fit a treat on my narrow feet without any slippage, mainly down to the very good strapping configuration. With regards length, all my other footware is a size 11, however the 10.5 Keens fit a treat.REVIEW BY: twohoots

Having worn Keane boots I had high expectations of of the sandals. I wasn't disapointed. My exact size was a little small but webtogs sent a replacement pair 1/2 size larger. Wore them constantly for 2 weeks in Corfu and I'm still wearing them. I would recommend them.
