The Keen Newport Sandals are the original waterproof sandals that launched Keen Footwear on to the outdoor world stage. Originally designed by Martin Keen, he wanted to make a sandal that stopped his toes getting bashed around whilst out and about on his boat. The result of this design was the Keen Newport with it's recognisable toe bumper. The Newports were designed with water in mind and they are never happier than messing about on the river or fording a stream. That's not to say The Keen Newports can't cope with anything else, they are a supremely comfortable pair of sandals whatever activity you are doing.

The Keen Newport Sandals feature a supper grippy outsole that has multi-directional lugs with razor siping. This siping breaks the surface of any film of water giving unbelievable grip on anything wet. If you are going to be in the sea regularly, you may want to look at the Newport H2's which are saltwater resistant, but these leather Newports will be great if you are in the sea on the odd occasion. Smell wise you needn't worry as you have an AEGIS microbe shield and Microban built in to the footbed, but if thats not enough, you can just pop them in the washing machine even though they are leather!

The Keen Newport Sandals also feature an EVA metatomical molded footbed, in plain English, they mould themselves to your feet and are amazingly comfy. The patented toe bumper is immediately recognisable as part of the Keen family, and after you stub your toes the first time with no ill effects, you will wonder why you didn't get a pair of Newport sandals before!

Whatever you will be doing in your Keen Newports, you will find it hard to go back to ordinary sandals once these have graced your feet!

Fit Tip: Exceptionally wide fitting, Keen are both rather wide but also a touch shorter than most normal brands. If you swing between two sizes, always take the larger of them for Keen.
