The TFX Appalachian 65:85 is another classic Lowe Alpine pack. This years design features the upgraded TFX 8 back system for greater comfort allowing you to travel for longer with more gear. This rucksack is packed full of helpful features to help you along which ever route you choose. They include a rain cover, 2 compartments with zip out divider, stretch water bottle pockets, hydration compatible, SOS panel, key clip, mitt friendly zip pulls, unique walking pole tip grabbers for secure storage, Noggin Notch TM for head clearance, pole and ice axes are clear of lower compartment allowing access, secure internal lid zipper pocket, removable GPS harness pocket.Features

Weight: 2550g / 90ozThe TFX range includes 3 levels of back systems for both men and women. As you move up through the levels you will find a higher level of adjustability and better materials, these factors allow you to carry heavier loads for longer in greater comfort.
TorsoFit: Lowe Alpine’s legendary TorsoFit system is a simple 100% reliable system for adjusting the back system to the user’s unique body shape thus ensuring maximum carrying comfort.
Supportive AirChannel: Backs get very hot when you are carrying heavy loads. Research has shown that vertical channels can be really effective in cooling the back. All TFX backs feature an AirChannel but some also feature the Supportive AirChannel which ensures greater comfort when carrying heavier loads.
AdaptiveFit: AdaptiveFit is Lowe’s term for harnesses and hip belts that will automatically adjust to the wearers shape just by tightening them.

Combines comfort and volume

Just completed Hadrian's Wall trek including camping and using this backpack was a treat. Adjustment for height is really simple and it was comfortably able to fit me (6 foot 6 inches) The trek pole attachments are nifty and there are numerous pockets for smaller items. The rain cover works well but there is a small area behind your head which is not covered when fully packed/extended. This allows water in and any items here inside the bag need to be protected from the rain. Likewise items in the bottom pocket may get damp if rested upright on damp ground. These areas of concern can be overcome with careful packing (using bin bags) and don't much detract from another great Lowe Alpine product.REVIEW BY: bigalp
