Rip Stop -This is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern. It is woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Limelight handles itself well
Just finished a part of the Tour d'Afrique where my Limelight 3 was an important part of my kit.
With several nights in a row of heavy downpours the tent held up well. No leakage even under downpours that threatened to collapse the tent under the intensity.
Easy to put up, with flexibility to put the fly up first and then the tent. Worked well those nights when setting up in the rain.
Spacious for 2 though would be tight for 3.
A couple of small issues. As mentioned by previous reviews the plastic connector on the poles broke on the second day. Needed to improvise with a thick rubber band, which seems to do the job.
Under hot nights found build up of condensation on the inner side of the fly. A small vent at the top would remove this.
Under very heavy rains there was some water leakage through the mesh along the lower part of the tent from splash when the tent was pitched on sandy ground. Having the mesh slightly higher should remove this problem.
Overall, a purchase.
