Marmot's new Super Mica Jacket combines Ripstop Nylon with their MemBrain Strata technology in a lightweight jacket packed with features. From its Duralite Zonal Reinforcements to integral cooling vents and the Super Mica is designed to stay breathable whatever the pressure. The seams are micro stitched and taped and all the zips are water resistant, with die cut Velcro adjusters on the cuffs and an easy to get to grips with draw cord at the hem to keep the wearer weather proofed.The Gale Force Hood, with laminated and wired brim, pulls in nice and tight with the simple adjusters and makes a good seal with the high collar. Even with it's large vertical chest pockets the Super Mica allows a little compromise on weight for the sake of durability with reinforcements at the shoulders, elbows and arms. With pit zips and Marmot's Angel Wing design you get good ventilation and freedom of movement and at under 250 grams it's not much bigger than an apple.

Is it waterproof?
An emphatic yes,keeps the wind out too. Four out my last five walks have been wet the last one extremely so, Do`nt be put off by the light weight it does what claims,keeps you dry and comfortable.

light and good quality
I've not tried in high mountains but it's workign well. Waterproof and warm with some sleeve under.

The jacket is great. Super lightweight, and breathes well. It literally fits in your pocket.Wore it twice in freezing rain, stayed dry both times.
Great choice for layering, too.
If you're looking for all-year round great-quality outdoors jacket, Super Mica should be on the top of your list.
