The Marmot XT Gloves are a brilliant pair of versatile gloves which can be used for a whole range of mountain sports; including ice climbing, scrambling, skiing and belaying. Marmot have made the XT gloves from a Membrain soft shell and then added Pittards leather reinforcements in high traffic areas from extra durability. There is also a DriClime wicking insert and Thermal R insulation so the XT's cover you when you're hard at it and at rest. The DriClime pulls moisture from your skin when you sweat to keep you dry and the Thermal R keeps you warm when you're resting.The Marmot XT Gloves are well priced, versatile and durable. Superb gloves - nice fit
I was struggling to decide between the windstopper and the XT when I wanted a pair of gloves, but I reckon that these were a slightly more comfortable fit. They are quite snug, but not tight.
They are quite a thick construction, so you can't do anything too fiddly when wearing them, but you can quite happily wear them for general use (when you aren't scaling a mountain somewhere !).
They took a little while to warm up inside, but once they did my hands were really comfortable... not hot and sweaty, just nicely warm.
The leather palms give really excellent grip so you can use them with confidence.
Overall, an excellent pair of gloves
