The Women's Crystalline Jacket is an award winning ultralight shell from Marmot. With the performance needed for long multi-day trips the Women's Crystalline Jacket packs a lot of value into every gram. Cut and sized specifically for women and using the MemBrain Strata fabric the Crystalline breathes comfortably and moves with you. Despite weighing in at under 200g Marmot’s innovative design packs features from Angel-Wing Movement to a hood into a remarkable jacket ideal for the budget conscious or the ultra-lightweight trail walker.Trail Magazine, October 2009........When weight really matters the material this jacket is made from plays a major role. So Marmot has chosen a 2.5-layer fabric called Membrain Strata, which boasts excellent lab test results so it is rated as extremely waterproof and extremely breathable by trail. The fabric allows this jacket to weigh in at just over 200g, and yet it still has a hood and pockets and a full-length zip. The hood has a volume adjuster, face drawcords and a stiffened peak. It fits well too. The pockets on the hip are large enough for an OS map and have zipped access. There is also Velcro adjustment at the cuffs and a hem drawcord. That is a lot of features for the weight and the price of just £100. So this looks like it could be ideal for those who want to travel light in gear terms, but not in wallet terms!

I bought the Marmot Essence Pant, Mica Jacket and Crystalline Jacket for me and my wife. All products seem great so far. Very very light weight, but also very functional. They fit nicely, even though we ordered sizes too big, so they can fit over down jackets. Pleased to see pockets in the Jackets, despite it being a super lightweight product. Hoods on the Jackets work nicely. Only downsides worth mentioning are they can get quite sweaty compared to my Paramo waterproofs. They also let a little water in in areas that rub against your rucksack/straps etc. Certainly not a huge amount, but worth mentioning. Webtogs order & delivery superb as ever. Jacket is VERY light and a little on the small size but OK. I haven't tested it in heavy rain yet but certainly does what I wanted, which is to sit in my rucksack until needed. If it is waterproof then it will be idealREVIEW BY: CrichLady

tried in all normal gear shops for really lightweight but fully waterproof jacket and none fitted bill, either windproof only or far too hot waterproof. This is wonderfully waterproof and as light as a feather, ideal for hot weather rain!REVIEW BY: geargal

Very, very, very light.Slightly small - but fits my daughter as intended. If I had got the small instead of medium (which is her normal size) it would not have fit.
