Marmot's PreCip Jacket for women is a combination of tried and tested technology and old fashioned value for money. Designed as an entry level jacket for hill walking or high street the PreCip uses a breathable, waterproof, barrier with fully taped seams for protection from the elements with a double storm flap over the main zip.With the Women's PreCip Marmot have produced a traditional style jacket, optimised for use over fleece or softshell mid layers, with diagonal chest pockets and a simple roll-up hood. Pit Zips are a nice touch in a budget conscious jacket and help with ventilation when needed, and Marmot's Angel-Wing system gives good freedom of movement even with a fleece underneath.

It has pit-zips!!This is a great idea for a jacket with a breathable PU coating that won't perform quite as well as the more technical membranes as it'll let out that extra moisture.

Put to the test walking the Pembrokeshire coast path in August - showers and heavy downpours broken by intermittent sunshine - and this jacket couldn't have performed better. Lightweight, excellent at keeping the rain out but without feeling uncomfortably clammy in the humid sunny spells. At Webtogs sale price this was amazing valueREVIEW BY: beach walker

Bought this for my wife as she needed a new waterproof shell.The quality of the product is fantastic, its very lightweight, has fully taped seams and the ability to fold away the hood is handy.

Great service, jacket came within 2 days. I have several waterproofs but wanted a lightweight jacket I can carry in my daypack on summer walks. My first impressions are that the Marmot Precip will do the job perfectly as it packs down into its own pocket, fits into a small space and is very lightweight. I love the colour and the feel of the fabric. The hood is a good size and adjustable and the underarm vents a welcome addition. Pockets are large and roomy though a little high in the body-intended for easy access when wearing waist strap. I like the cut and the fit though sizing is on the small side bought a large which is a good fit but just a tad snug. Overall an excellent jacket.REVIEW BY: Mahonia

Bought this for a trip to South Africa and it was brilliant: totally waterproof in torrential rain and, vitally, breathable at high temperatures with useful underarm vents. Also wore it over long-sleeved T-shirt and fleece in Lesotho at 3000m altitude in strong winds and it was fully windproof. Above all, it was light and compact enough to carry all day in my rucksack.
