The Merrell Moab Gore-Tex XCR Hiking Boots are a fantastic, durable and functional pair of men's boots. The upper part is made from a synthetic leather and mesh fabric, which integrates the GORE-TEX XCR technology for optimal breathe-ability and water resistance.The inside lining is treated with AEGIS Antimicrobial to prevent the formation of odours and the midsole features the Air Cushion technology for great shock absorption and overall comfort. The VIBRAM outersole includes 5mm lugs that provide incredible traction and grip on most surfaces.

Merrell Air Cushion - This is a patented air cushion added to the midsole of Merrell shoes and boots which absorbs shock and adds to the stability. It's engineered to absorb shock with each heel strike to the power of 4 times your body weight. The way in which the heel shape is made ensures that your heel sits central to the shoe and prevents you sliding around which also adds to the comfort and stability of your footwear. |

Sizing - frustrating!
These looked a great deal and was very excited about getting them. I should have listened to some other reviewers - I am size 12 and these felt like a size 11.
They seem good but couldn't wear them and had to be returned. :-(

Advice on Size!

I read Swampy's review about buying a large size than you think you need - totally ignored what he said & promptly bought what I usually would - WRONG! If you're new to Merrell's & have feet that are anything wider than narrow, believe Swampy, and now me ... If you are used to Keen's, then DON'T buy the same size as you would Keen's - go half a size bigger or, if you are going to wear thick socks, one size bigger ... or you'll be sending them back for an exchange as I did. Apart from that, brilliant boot, lightweight and exceptional value for money. Will be interested to see if they last as long as my Keen's walking daily on rough granite - but I'm optimistic ... I never give any product 5 stars for anything as I reckon a totally true review would only be applicable after about a year - but these boots are so far brilliant ...REVIEW BY: Lundyshopkeeper
