About Montane

Montane as a brand was created over 18 years ago by a young engineer who started sewing garments for himself and other mountain enthusiasts, the classic start to an outdoor brand really. Now Montane focuses on innovating new products and ideas. Their main focus is to create lightweight and breathable clothing for mountain climbing, running and biking. The Montane saying is Further. Faster.

Webtogs can safely say that Montane are at the forefront of innovating new, lighter, tougher products to aid people in achieving goals that seemed to far to fetch, and we like this very much which is why they have our metaphorical stamp of approval.

This season Montane have performed the near impossible and introduced a whole range of super lightweight clothing from Shells right down to base layers. The most feather-light of them all weighing in at an an astonishing 65 grams.

Montane Technologies

Montane use a whole range of technologies in construction of their products, some innovated in-house others integrated from fabric giants like eVent and Polartec. Each fabric and technology used is engineered to specific requirements and then match up wit the product which is most suited whether it be the most waterproof or the warmest. What you can be sure of is that Montane strive to be the best at what they do. Lightweight and technical jackets and pants for those who want to go further, faster.

eVent

eVent and Montane combine to create some seriously interesting products. Montane like to use eVent fabrics in their shell jackets because of high levels of breathability, unrivaled waterproof protection and low pack weight. Montane put a lot of effort into making lightweight products and the use of eVent fabrics enable them to deliver.

Peaq

Peaq are manufacturers of nylon fabrics which come in different thicknesses and weaves. Montane and Peaq work together to achieve the right fabrics for the correct products, activities and climates. Montane use Peaq fabrics on their down jackets and clothing because it's exceptional comfort, high breathability, quick drying properties and it's water and wind resistant. All these qualities are very important in the construction of Montane down clothing.

Pertex

Pertex is a company which produces many different grades of fabrics which are used by Montane to produce their wind shirts, soft shells and insulated jackets. Pertex has a family of fabrics all with their specific qualities of which Montane make the most of by including them in construction of their products. Montane use Peretx fabrics because they are strong, packable, water resistant, windproof, downproof and comfortable.

Freeflow

Freeflow - Montane use Freeflow fabrics for the outer shells of jackets and smocks. Freeflow fabrics are waterproof, strong and breathable making them perfect for down clothing and lightweight waterproof jackets and smocks. Freeflow is made from nylon mini ripstop and has high tensile strength and abrasion resistance..
