The Montane Medusa 32 is a super-light, multi-season, endurance backpack designed for mountain ascents and ultra distance where low weight, functionality and comfort are of the most importance. The Montane Medusa features the Dual tool system that allows you to store tools upside down and upright. The Medusa also features the Raptor TL fabric combined with a superior lightweight Montane Comfort Back Pad.The Medusa 32 is a feature rich backpack ideal for climbing, cragging, trekking, lightweight mountaineering, Via Ferrata and multi-day ultra distance events.

- Constructed from Raptor TL fabric in the main body which is tough yet exceptionally lightweight. Features a superb DWR and tear resistance
- Raptor UTL ultra tough, lightweight bottom panel prevents abrasion against rock surfaces
- Moulded Montane Comfort Back Pad features channels that wick sweat and rainwater away from the body and give additional ventilation
- Waterproof shell friendly Contact Mesh on the shoulder straps and Comfort Back Pad facings prevent abrasion on shell clothing when the pack is full to capacity and with heavy use
- Dual Tool reversed clean technical ice axe and walking pole attachment system Ice axes can be reversed to an Alpine safe position for increased safety when moving
- Buddy pocket for front access whilst on the move features a stiffened lip to prevent loss of items if zips are left open
- Chest harness with left hand clip prevents bulky buckles over the sternum and increases comfort with its low profile
- Symmetrical single hand side compression pulls
- Space saving efficient top lid front pull
- Reversible locking webbing buckles
- Body curve hip fins for strong comfort and stability when on the move
- Double tension waist harness for extra stability and pack weight equalisation
- Granite Stretch tough bucket side pockets for water bottle and back-country ski storage
- Internal security pocket featuring vertical upside down zipped entry preventing coin and key loss
- Granite Stretch skirt for clean fabric hugging lid closure
- Right hip head-torch and gel shot stash pocket
- Left hip gear loop for clipping whilst on the move

Rip StopThis is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven rip-stop reinforcement threads in a cross hatch pattern. It is woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Rip-stop is used in construction of hot air balloons and yacht sails but in this case very effectively on outdoor clothing. |

When I opened this, I was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't expecting it to be quite this light and functional. It has all the advantages of much more expensive bags, the great-ness that comes from being 'Made in England' and loads of features to keep you busy for a while.
Plenty of compression options and simple, single handed operation on many sections.
I brought my old day sack into work today, and I put it inside this to take it home (along with my instructing kit for climbing - which I am doing directly after work) and was so surprised by the physical size of the pack. Very slim indeed! Perfect for a close fitting day pack / lightweight camping pack or a pack to take trad climbing on multi-pitch days in the mountains :)
