The Montane Men's Minimus Jacket is a dream come true to those who want to bring weight down without compromising on any performance. In fact the Minimus although weighting in at less than 200g has a hydrostatic head of 20,000mm which means that it's very waterproof, and has an MVTR rating of 25,000 which corresponds to its breathability.So, what you get with the Minimus is a super-light, highly waterproof and highly breathable jacket. Montane have not skipped out on any of the features either by adding water resistant zips down the front and on the map sized chest pocket so your essentials will stay nice and dry along with the rest of your upper body. The roll away hood with reinforced wired peak will keep the rain off your head and face during nasty weather so you can plough on regardless.

Fantastic little jacket

This is a great little jacket, which exceeded my expectations, but they were very high anyway so that's high praise :) Incredibly lightweight and compact, a great cut and athletic fit (so long as you buy a size larger than usual- I'm 5'9", 67kg and 38" chest and the medium is perfect). Nice features- great hood, big chest pocket, easy cuff and hem adjustment. Haven't had a chance to try in heavy rain yet, but brushes off showers easily. Tried it on a 6k hilly run as an experiment- of course it got damp on the inside, but wasn't clammy or uncomfortable and I wasn't soaked inside, so it must breathe pretty well! Recently spent a very wet bank holiday attempting the Yorkshire Dales 3 Peaks and this jacket was the highlight of the trip, even in horizontal rain this jacket kept me bone dry and protected from the wind. The hood is also excellent, it adjusts easily turns with your head giving fantastic visiblilty. Also this jacket is incredibly light (200 grams!) and packs down very small (bit smaller than a coke can).As always nothing but exceptional service from Webtogs.

Very light and very effective. I bought this as a general waterproof to replace an old Goretex jacket. I was worried that its lightweight may compromise it's performance, but my concerns have proven to be unfounded. what an excellent piece of kit. This jacket has proven to be completly waterpoof and probably more breathable and certainly more comfortable, than my old goretex. Great jacket, the use of Pertex Shield makes it a seriously lightweight piece of kit but breathability is better than most jackets in it's class. If you need a waterproof that's breathable and will not weigh your pack down, the Minimus is a great choice.REVIEW BY: Gareth
