Guide to Mosquito Nets

For a good nights sleep away from biting insects, a mosquito net is an important piece of kit in your luggage. Choosing the right mosquito net for you depends on whether you will be trekking in the jungle, staying in a hotel or sleeping under the stars.

We have a great choice of shapes and sizes so we are sure you will be able to find one that keeps those mosquitoes as far away as possible.

Box shaped mosquito nets will offer you the greatest amount of space away from biting bugs with its four point hanging system. They can also be used with two points to form a wedge shape. They generally take longer to erect so are great if you are staying in one place for any length of time.

Ridge shaped mosquito nets usually uses a single hanging point with a strengthening bar to give the wedge shape. They are lightweight and compact and as they are so easy to put up they are ideal for travellers who are moving about. There is also a ridge shaped mosquito net which looks like a tent and uses a double hanging point system. It is great for using outdoors as it can be hung from a tree but can also be used indoors if you find yourself in a far-flung hotel.

Bell shaped Mosquito nets are also very easy to erect with the single hanging point and offer a spacious internal area. They offer great versatility as they can hang over anything from a single bed to a double bed depending on your choice of mosquito net.

Freestanding mosquito nets are for use outdoors in warm, dry weather and are a great alternative to a tent in summer. Easy to erect and lightweight, these mosquito nets are perfect for any backpacker.  

Accessories such as hanging kits and mosquito net hats are also available as well as bed sheets to keep those bed bugs at bay.

All of our mosquito nets have been treated with insecticide which will last for up to 2 years and will kill any insects on contact. They are all made from fine mesh with 196 holes per square inch so the bugs and flying insects can’t get through and each mosquito net comes with its own hanging kit.
