Mountain Equipment Men's Supercell Jacket Rating: 5

Lightweight, waterproof & super breathable

Bought the Mountain Equipment Supercell for a walking jacket in the warmer, wetter months and now the weather is warming up I've been out and am very happy with it's performance! Great with a pack and has a longer cut so when the rain is horizontal you're still protected! Great jacket worth every penny. Read More »

Mountain Equipment Men's Odin Jacket Rating: 5

Great quality and great value

I have only had this a few days but I've owned quite a few down jackets in the past and I know a good one when I see one. The quality is very high, slightly higher than my montane north star jacket or north face. Good stitching that doesn't look like much down will escape through it... Read More »

Mountain Equipment

Mountain Equipment is one of the leading outdoor clothing and equipment brands in the UK, having been at the forefront of mountaineering now for over 50 years. Mountain Equipments heritage means they have assisted in every British first ascent of a peak over 8000 metres. It also explains why ME have helped supply kit and been part of over 175 Everest expeditions. Having been around for five decades, Mountain Equipment are trusted to take the world's elite to the most harsh and dangerous places on Earth.

We at Webtogs feel that Mountain Equipment is a brand that was created by enthusiasts and is now held together by passion and their love for the Great Outdoors. Based in Manchester, we sometimes have problems getting in contact as they are frequently out in the Peak District, Lakes or North York moors testing more Mountain Equipment gear and clothing! Consistently winning best in tests for their waterproof jackets,  Mountain Equipment have an unequalled reputation when it comes to keeping you dry in the glorious British weather.

Whether you are looking at the jacket the mountain rescue teams in the UK have chosen, the Mountain Equipment Kongur MRT, or one of their techincal fleeces, you have come to the right place, here at Webtogs.

Mountain Equipment Technologies

Mountain Equipment uses Helium Fabrics

Helium Fabrics

Helium fabrics are designed exclusively for Mountain Equipment. Using years of design and practical experience and working along side some of the world’s finest fabric houses Mountain Equipment have developed the Helium range of fabrics. Helium fabrics offer the lightestweights and highest breathabilty around so you can ensure that you’re getting the maximum performance from your product.
Mountain Equipment uses Drilite

Drilite

Mountain Equipment originally developed Drilite specifically to meet the requirements for an exceptionally light, highly breathable and water resistant shell which would be able to protect down clothing and sleeping bags from dampness, they succeeded and now Drilite is used on most Mountain Equipment down items due to it's unique ability to protect down from the weather at such a low weight.
EXL

EXL

EXL has been developed by Mountain Equipment to increase the comfort and warmth of down sleeping bags and jackets. EXL is an elastic lining which can expand and contract according to the shape and movements of your body. This eliminates cold spots, maximises warmth and comfort.
Angled Foot Box

Shark Toes Foot

Otherwise known as an angled foot box, Mountain Equipment use this in many of their down sleeping bags ranges and what it does is allow your feet to rest in a natural position without causing the sleeping bag to become taught. If the bag becomes taught then the down will not be allowed to loft properly and this will result in a loss of heat and insulation around your feet causing discomfort as nobody likes to have cold toes.
Mountain Equipment uses Optiwarm

Primaloft

Primaloft is technologies answer to down. Mountain Equipment use Primaloft in products which they feel need synthetic insulation due to the nature of the activity or climate that the item may be used for. Mountain Equipment see this as an important addition or substitution because Primaloft can insulate even when damp, whereas down will only insulate while dry. So in changeable conditions Primaloft will be the answer for insulation.
Mountain Equipment uses Gore-tex

Gore-Tex

Mountain Equipment and Gore-Tex have worked along side each other for many years and have produced some serious gear which has taken the world by storm, literally. The Changabang Jackets and Kalanka Jackets most notably are such strong examples of what can happen when two leading pioneers come together to create new and exciting products.
