The Mountain Equipment Everest is the pinnacle of extreme weather sleeping bags from one of the world's most respected names. Built to take the very worst of the weather this sleeping bag comes into its own when others pack up. Nine vertical chest V baffles and seven V baffles in the Bulls-Eye foot compartment keep the cold outside, whilst the EXL System gently pulls the inner close to the body for optimal comfort and cold spot elimination.

The two way zip boasts a snag-free design with a full double baffle protection behind, and the Drilite Loft hood lining keeps water vapour from breathing away from the vulnerable down to ensure a warm dry night. With over a kilo of top performing 750+ fill power down inside the Mountain Equipment Everest sets new boundaries for performance, from a Highlands winter to an Antarctic expedition.

Tech details

750+ Fill Power

This down provides a very high level of warmth to weight keeping you warm without being heavy and bulky. Products made with 750+ fill power down will be extremely compressible ensuring they take up as little room as possible in your pack.

Drilite

is an exceptionally light, highly breathable and water resistant shell fabric which protects down clothing and sleeping bags from dampness. Drilite is used on most Mountain Equipment down items due to it's unique ability to protect down from the weather at such a low weight.

Sharks Toe Foot

- otherwise known as an angled foot box, Mountain Equipment use this in many of their down sleeping bags ranges and what it does is allow your feet to rest in a natural position without causing the sleeping bag to become taught. If the bag becomes taught then the down will not be allowed to loft properly and this will result in a loss of heat and insulation around your feet causing discomfort as nobody likes to have cold toes.

Rip Stop -

This is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern. It is woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Ripstop is used in construction of hot air balloons and yacht sails but in this case very effectively on outdoor clothing.

Combination Down Construction

- High Altitude and Expedition down gear tend to use a combination of box walled and stitch through construction to reduce heat loss and spread the down evenly across the product while keeping the down in place. Combining the two construction techniques and the finest down create the warmest and and most effective heat retaining products.

DWR

- Durable Water Repellent, is a coating added to fabrics to help add to their water repellency and shed water and snow more effectively.
