The perfect piece of modern, all weather insulation. The Mountain Equipment Fitzroy men's jacket is designed to keep you comfortable in the most miserable winter conditions. Voted recently 'Best in Test' of current synthetic insulated jackets by Trail magazine, you certainly won't go wrong with this on the hill, it has everything.
Equally at home on soaking belays in Scotland or in wild winds in Patagonia, the Fitzroy Jacket is a climbers 'must have’ item. The hood is fully adjustable and comes with a wired peak. There are plenty of pockets, all of which are a good size and have zips. Adjustment includes a draw cord hem and Velcro cuffs. To top it all off the face fabric and fill provide you with a great warmth-to-weight ratio creating a secure refuge from the elements when it turns nasty.

PrimaLoft is technology’s answer to down, with the important addition of being usable in the rain. The advanced synthetic insulation absorbs less water, so stays warm even when wet making it ideal for cold wet climates where down products may be unsuitable.
Helmet Compatible jackets have hoods which are compatible for use with a helmet. The hood allows four way movement so never inhibiting your vision while reaching or stretching in awkward positions.
A great jacket for a Scottish winter or for any time of year.
Pack it at the top of the bag and it is there to whip out quickly whenever you stop, belay, eat.... but i really liked the reenforcement patches which should handle the wear and tear better than my old Rab jacket.
A great tip I got was to get an XL so you can be sure that it will fit over everything you will ever wear, even in winter. This means that you will not lose heat by having to remove a shell to put on an extra layer, and more importantly will fit anyone with you who may need warmth in an emergency.

Great product
Worn for the first time last weekend doing the Snowdon Horseshoe. Cold day but never felt it and didn't get uncomfortably hot either. All in all a great jacket, perfect for those cold days on the fells.

Great gear
Does what it says. On the tops in ice and snow, kept me very warm with no outer shell. Nifty wrap down cuffs for gloves. Excellent.

I have had a mountain gilet for a years and it has been superb, the jacket is the same. Very durable and warm. Light as a feather yet sturdy.

Usual ME high quality
I bought this jacket for standing on cold winter belays but it has been used around town during the recent cold wether, the cut and finish is of the usual Mountain Equipment high standard, super warm and packs away nice and small. They have even added a loop for hanging up, the only complaint I had about my ME Ogre shell! Good service from Webtogs too.

Mountain Equipment Fitzroy jacket
Every review on the web rated this jacket very highly. Now I have one I can only concur. Used on the hills and did it's job. But best test was standing at the side of a football pitch watching son play in horizontal rain for 90mins. Apart from cold toes, nothing got through and I was very pleased. Service from Webtogs was excellent and product turned up next day as promised. Will certainly visit again for future purchases.

Excellent Storm Jacket
An excellent lightweight storm jacket that is well insulated, very lofty for a synthetic and very comfortable. The hood is a fantastic design, big enough to fit a bicycle helmet under, and well designed enough to fit the smallest of skulls.
If you need a jacket for bad conditions that is lightweight and excellently built, this is the one. Its quality is competitive with Arcteryx minus the huge investment.

Warm, lightweight jacket
This jacket has extra warmth, but is lightweight and compact. Perfect for this winter in Scotland, which has been very cold and dry. The only slight irritation is the plastic strip used on the cuffs. I would prefer a material piece with velcro.

Just what I've been looking for
Just as it says, the perfect piece of modern, all weather insulation and true to its every description. Superbly light, no bulkiness, and exceptionally warm. I'm female and this men's jacket fits perfectly, offering more room around the shoulders and hips for the slightly more rounded figure. Love the mustard and olive colour. Creates a sophisticated and unusual look. Very happy with this excellent purchase.

Awesom Primaloft Jacket!!!
The Mountain Equipment Fitzroy Jacket is an absolutely fantastic coat! I was using it in temperatures of up to -6 degrees wearing only a t-shirt underneath and was still perfectly warm. Keeps out the rain and snow and has a fairly good packsize. Is also nice and lightweight! The Zip rubs against your chin a little when completely zipped up but apart from that it is a brilliant jacket.

The jacket is everything the description portrayed. For something so light to be so warm was especially surprising. The hood is the right size and turns with the head as most people prefer. I already have a lightline jacket which is great but at times can feel bulky so it is great to have an alternative. Overall I am very impressed with the Fitzroy.

Fitzroy Forever..!
Despite the “belay jacket” appearing to be the latest piece of "must have" outdoor clothing this season, Mountain Equipment’s Fitzroy jacket is no mere marketing exercise or me-too product.
Delivered to Sweden ahead of an Autumn climbing and walking trip the Jacket was soon proving it’s worth keeping the chill wind and early morning frosts at bay, ideal over a tee shirt between activities or as a insulating shell over warmer layers.
Light and extremely comfortable with secure harness-friendly pockets and an excellent wired hood the Fitzroy is more than capable of keeping out all but the very worst weather with good wrist/hem closures systems and weather proof zips.
Purchased with the intention of replacing a well used, 30 year old, ME Light Line down jacket the Fitzroy certainly weighs less and packs smaller than the trusty Light Line,
Personally I’d prefer an integrated type stuff sac rather than the separate item provided, not that this jacket will spent much time stuffed away given its versatility and performance.
Fitzroy forever…..? Well at least the next 30 years maybe!

A safe pair of hands
Fantastic jacket bought for the unpredictable weather on the Isle of Man. Light weight and folds down into a rucksack easily, whilst still providing excellent warmth. This coat is ideal for me as I am allergic to feathers - so down isn't an option.
