The Mountain Equipment Supercell Jacket takes it's name from a type of thunder storm which is apt considering that the Supercell Jacket is a fully featured, lightweight, mountain jacket that will protect you from howling storms and blowing gales.Mountain Equipment have used Gore-Tex Active Shell to aid them in their battle against the weather and this particular strain of Gore manages to shave weight off the jacket by combining the laminating process directly onto the backer fabric. What this means is that you get a super-breathable and waterproof jacket which is ideal for fast, aerobic activities and it's also really comfortable if you're just wearing a t-shirt on warm days out in the hills and mountains.
The Supercell is also a slightly longer cut to allow for full protection if you're half way up a cliff face and the rain starts to come in sideways. Nice, thoughtful thinking from the Mountain Equipment designers.

Bought the Mountain Equipment Supercell for a walking jacket in the warmer, wetter months and now the weather is warming up I've been out and am very happy with it's performance! Great with a pack and has a longer cut so when the rain is horizontal you're still protected! Great jacket worth every penny.REVIEW BY: Little_edge
