The Mountain Equipment Women's Shield Jacket is an awesome windproof jacket made with a GORE WINDSTOPPER softshell outer. The Shield jacket is designed to keep you protected from almost everything a winter’s day can launch at you: arctic gales, sleet, snow and squally showers.

Backed up with full function Mountain Equipment design and innovative hybrid construction this is as protective as softshell gets. If your typical winter’s day in the mountains often feels more like a battle than a walk in the park then you should consider the Shield to be essential equipment.

GORE Windstopper

soft shell fabrics. These are a 3 layer laminate of a hard wearing outer fabric, and a wicking lining fabric, with the windstopper membrane sandwiched between. This offers superb protection, being totally windproof and stops snow and rain in all but the worst conditions.

Polartec Power Shield:

these fabrics feature a smooth, tightly woven nylon face for abrasion resistance equal or superior to the best shells, but without the stiffness and noise. A polyester velour back traps air and provides a high warmth-to-weight ratio.

Helmet Compatible

jackets have hoods which are compatible for use with a helmet. The hood allows four way movement so never inhibiting your vision while reaching or stretching in awkward positions.

YKK Zippers

are used for their robust and water resistant properties. YKK uses the combination of locking teeth together and a PU coated strip to create a barrier between you and the elements.
