For 2009 the Tikka XP from Petzl has been redesigned making it lighter and more powerful. The Tikka XP 2 has a single high-output LED, a red LED and a battery indicator. Quickly switch between the 3 white light modes and the 2 red light modes using the push button on the top.Features

Not as good as it claims
Bought this head torch as it claimed to be the most powerful of the Petzl 'non battery pack' head torches.
Its small and built to a very high standard and should last ages, battery life is good too as are the myriad of functions the torch offers.
Ok, it is powerful for what it is and should suit the needs of most buyers well, but in hindsight there are others out there for the same money which perform better.
Still use mine as a back up torch in my search kit but for main rescue work I tend to use LED Lenser branded torches (Webtogs take note) as these are by far the best torches money can buy!
Overall, if you want a powerful torch for 90% of activities then you cant go far wrong with one of these.
