Scarpa New Trek GTX boots are the latest incarnation of a 3 season classic, designed for hill walking and trekking but equally at home in the valley floor as when approaching the snowline. Using the BDX last and Integra sole the New Trek GTX give a good combination of support and flexibility, whilst the flexible mid sole gives good stability on uneven ground.Build quality is everything you'd expect from Scarpa, with a full grain Nubuck leather upper and a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex liner to keep the water out. The 360 degree ankle flex system combines support with a good feeling of flexibility and help make the New Trek GTX a comfortable classic boot with a modern twist that feels comfortable from day 1.

Gore-Tex XCR Technology is the Gore-Tex eXtended Comfort Range, used where comfort and dexterity matter most, and designed to meet the challenge of keeping hands and feet dry whilst letting them breathe freely. |
The Skywalk integra sole uses EVA and PU inserts for optimum shock absorption and long term cushioning, making the boots ideal for prolonged use for long distance trails.
A Gore-Tex liner uses a water resistant membrane that allows water vapour to exit whilst preventing water droplets entering to help keep feet dry from perspiration as well as water getting in from outside.
Scarpa New Trek boots are rated as B0 and not recommended for use with crampons.

I've been wearing Scarpa for years and size 8's always fit - these boots, however, are very narrow and slightly tighter than usual - thankfully they fit my son perfectly.REVIEW BY: MickeySS

Good lightweight boot

I've only used the boot for a couple of weeks so far, but the walking here is quite challenging and I'm out every day. I'm happy with the boot overall, but on steep slopes with a slippery surface - say mud with wet leaves over it - a stiffer sole would be good. But then they would be more mountain boots than walking boots, perhaps.Overall, a good, comfortable light boot, good on the road and on tracks. Not ideal for more challenging conditions, say steep winter woods off-track. But no boot can do everything.

I have walked in many decent hiking boots over the years and the Trek GTX have so far proved to be a worthy purchase. They fit my feet perfectly, are of excellent build quality and are very sure footed. My first walk in them was in the Lakes climbing Helvellyn and these boots were so comfortable, my feet and ankles did not feel the strain of a hard walk. Also, in what was a very hot day, the boots proved to have exceptional breatheability qualities keeping my feet dry. Look forward to my next walk!!!!REVIEW BY: Gardale
