The North Face Base Camp Duffel Extra Large is usually one of the backdrops of pictures taken on expedition and it's not hard to see why. The Extra Large Base Camp can hold 155 litres of whatever you can find to go in there and along with a virtually indestructible shell the duffel will see to it that your gear arrives at it's destination whether it be sat on by a donkey or kicked by baggage handlers.Be warned, if you choose an XL Base Camp Duffel try not to fill it up as you'll probably need two people to carry it, unless you happen to have a pack horse on hand of course.

Perfect for the job

I bought this bag for my daughter, who is going on a marine catamaran trip in the summer. Decided we needed the XL bag as she has to take her wetsuit, boots, dive equip, etc ...... the size of the bag is exceptional and more than does the job.Another added bonus is the fact that the bag can fold up really small, so that she can store her bag on board very easily, as space in the cabin is limited.
Have not taken it through an airport yet, but am feeling confident it will live up to its reputation.
Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.

This bag is flawless! Its huge for a start! I can't think why you'd need a bigger bag. I'm in the army and regularly use it to carry a lot of heavy kit around no problem.and needless to say webtogs have it for an absolutely amazing price!

Just too big

This is an tough, big bag - but I think you could only use it to its capacity if you were packing feathers - its too heavy for me to carry at about 2/3rd full, and I'm not a particularly weak person. Excellent build quality but in hindsight I wish I'd gone for the slightly smaller size.In terms of the range though, they are excellent and I would recommend them. However I wish I'd considered whether I could practically use the size to its full capability.

Big, Bold, Bulletproof!

Cannot fault North Face duffle bags. They cost more than other brands but they sure last longer - nothing worse than a broken bag on holiday for the sake of saving a few pounds.I've added axes, crampons and walking poles in mine and they've never made a hole. Water runs straight over, easy to clean, and I've never seen a zip failure.
