They integrate a GORE-TEX XCR membrane that keeps your feet dry and sweat free.Extremely comfortable, they include an ergonomically-designed footbed which gives you fantastic comfort and stability as well as Vibram outsoles which have been specifically engineered to provide outstanding grip in the harshest environments.

The feet are the foundation of the body and require stability and support in order to maintain a strong and healthy body. The newly designed Northotic is a multi-density footbed that provides enhanced stability, support and cushioning on the trail.
1. Lateral and medial TPU heel cradle offers torsional stability, arch support and prohibits over-pronation.
2. OrthoLite polyurethane (PU) footbed. Firmer PU under the ball and heel for cushioning and stability. Softer top layer for a cushioned ride throughout.
3. Longitudinal arch wedge prevents the foot from sliding forward, and supports the arch.
Multisport Mikeno outsole
The North Face newly designed Multisport Mikeno outsole utilizes a new exclusive Vibram rubber sole, and the new X-2 02 heel air pod for added cushioning. Added benefits include flexible, high-grip sticky rubber in the heel and forefoot with firmer, high-traction rubber lugs at the edges.
Gore-Tex XCR fabrics
Gore-Tex XCR fabrics Gore-Tex fabrics lead the industry in providing durably waterproof / breathable protection. The Gore-Tex membrane is completely impervious to rain, sleet and snow, while allowing perspiration to pass through it. A single square inch of the Gore-Tex membrane contains 9 billion microscopic pores - each pore is 20,000 times smaller than a raindrop but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapour - so while water can't pass through the fabric, perspiration can.
The North Face uses Gore-Tex fabric in shoes, not only because of its waterproof / breathable capabilities, but because it is rigorously tested for durability. Abrasion and flexing tests are done in laboratory conditions that exceed even the most extreme weather environments.
