Pleased all round
Was looking for a good-looking pair of gore-tex lined approach trainers for general outdoor and urban antics and seem to have found them
On-road they've been very comfortable, great cushioning and grip (no wet sliding as mentioned in another review, maybe that was running?). They can be a little warm (end of summer now) but this will be appreciated in autumn/winter
Off-road have only used for for mountain biking so far (in wind and rain) and they performed great, the only water which got in was due to water running down my bare legs into the shoes after riding through puddles. The water then stayed in the shoes which also is testament to them being waterproof I guess!
Build quality seems great, can't find fault anywhere
Very easy to clean (wash inside and out under the tap) and quick to dry too
Can't comment on running in them I'm afraid
Definitely recommended.

Bought these for my husband for Christmas. He wanted pair of lightweight walking shoes that looked good and were waterproof - these have done the job! Webtogs were also cheapest place I could find so made them value for money and delivery was quick. Would definitely recommend Webtogs and the shoes.

Great shoes and amazing customer service!
I purchased these shoes, originally in an 8.5 (I'm usually a 9) as I already had the non gore tex version in that size for summer use... Unfortunately I found that the 8.5 in the gore tex version was slightly too small. I returned these for repalcement in size 9, and the service was brilliant! Arrived within days of sending back from my end and am very pleased with the purchase. The only thing to bear in mind (and it's a North Face issue, not Webtogs) is that if you are ordering, purchase in your true shoe size; but you may find them a little on the large side, but only if you are wearing normal socks... thicker socks are not a problem! Thanks Webtogs, I'll definately be buying form you guys in future!

I bought these men's sizes for light country walking because the women's sizes were cut small and narrow in comparison with other models I tried. These men's sizings seem fine. They don't look as cool as the women's models, but they do the job well so far.

Well priced, quality shoe.
First of all just let me say these are great shoes. The GORE-TEX lining does, as you would expect, protect your feet from rain and lying water. For me personally I have had initial problems with muscle pain in my thighs and backside! This is likely to be as a result of the shoe correcting my foot posture. I also have a slight discomfort on my little toe, where the webbing supports the shoe, but I have a neuroma in my foot which makes finding comfortable fitting footwear a very difficult job. Despite the above I still believe this to be an excellent multi purpose shoe.

Mens Hedgehog GTX XCR Trainers
I realised i needed a decent pair of shoes after walking around Rome in a pair of trainers and ended up with blisters and sore soles, that i could hardly walk. I decided on the NF hedgehogs, and from the moment i put them on they were so comfortable. I never had to wear them in, and I have just done a trip to the USA where they were the only shoes I took, and i walked so much around San Fran, LA, Hawaii and Vegas in them and they still look new and feel really comfortable. Going out in the evenings they looked great in Jeans. The size is true, normally a size 9 and they were slightly long and wide, perfect for me when walking long distances. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone. They are made really well and construction in great, just what you expect from North face.

decent trainers
I've only had these a week or so which makes it hard to give an accurate review but impressions so far are good. They're replacing an equivalent pair of Salomons which lasted 4 years. Possibly not as comfortable, there isn't much padding around the sides but they're light, feel well built, excellent soles and am sure they will keep the water out.

All round good experience
The trainers perform as expected from a quality manufacturer. I have used North Face trainers for the past few years and have not been disappointed with any of my purchases. The web site was easy to navigate and my purchase was quickly confirmed. The product arrived one day earlier than was forecast and was well wrapped. Would highly recommend webtogs.

NorthFace Hedgehog GTX XCR.
These shoes are the Nissan GTR, of running shoes. Excellent. I put them on, and they immediately made me want to RUN! Great Fit.
I have already recommended them to my Wife, and Best friend, and because of my enthusiasm, they have no doubts on their next pair of Shoes.

I have always order size 10 shoes because a size 9 is to small to be comfortable. I was chuffed to find these stocked in half sizes so got the 9.5 - it felt tight at first but after a couple of days they have softened nicely and are now a perfect fit and very comfortable and lightweight.

These shoes are unusual in that they are happier on rocky steep paths or dry grass than wet pavements, they look very smart, do not look dirty although I have only worn them on dry paths and Dorset tracks no wet grass or rocks but have used them just walking along wet pavement and the sensation is ones foot slips back so that you are always pushing forward to check how slippy the path is.

My second pair of Hedgehogs
I had a pair of these before and I had walked about 300 miles in them before they gave up! They are very comfortable and light. No need to break them in before use.
Just a little niggle with this pair, the tongue on the left foot moves slightly too far to the left and is very painful.

These training shoes are excellent. They do exactly what The North Face say they will. Straight out of the box, on and very comfortable, no problems at all. Size wise, I always find it difficult as I'm a shoe size 7.5, boot size 8 and trainer size 8.5, so if this helps, the 8.5 is perfect for me.

M Hedgehog GTX XCR Trainers
This is the second pair I have bought, so that speaks for itself. Grip on grass both wet and dry outstanding. Don't wear thick socks because they can get a bit warm. Feet always dry even through long wet grass.
My feet are wide with high arches and it was a relief to find a pair of shoes that fit so comfortably.

A Good Buy
This is the 2nd pair I've bought, as was very pleased with my previous purchase.
The original shoes have stood up well to hard use and high mileage, remaining comfortable and never causing problems after all day use.
Though they are now beginning to look battered and soles showing signs of wear, they are still useable.
On this basis I have no hesitation in recommending them.

This is my seecond pair of North Face GTX XCR Trainers.
After wearing out my first pair there was only one shoe I was going to buy. I use them mainly for road walking here in London but I have also used them for mountain trails in the Alps and for part of the West Highland Way - in all situations they have performed brilliantly. They are light, confortable and, importantly, virtually waterproof.
I would also like to mention WebTogs. I had never used them before but the service was second to none.
Apart from saving £20 on the high street price I placed my order on Friday and the shoes arrived on Saturday morning - how good is that! Oh,delivery is free too - fantastic!

Really waterproof ... I was the only one with dry feet on a walk in the Brecon Beacons even though some were wearing boots.
Great trail running shoe. I use these in preference to any other shoe for longish distance trail running (10 to 20 mile runs). All my niggling injuries have gone away.
The grip is pretty good. Shame about the laces, I'm on my second set already.

The lining was rucked up in the toe and caused some rubbing and caused some discomfort, this was not evident until I was abroad and on a long walk.
Will check this out before another purchase.

For those with a few miles under the belt and want a light, winter trainer then this is it. Perfect for normal wear & approach shoe but a very good fast paced trail shoe that can withstand long runs.

Built for the long haul!
In the space of a week I did three marathon distances cross country and three ten milers just to work out the stiffness in the joints. The construction hasn’t faltered at all. Whilst these aren’t marathon trainers and they probably aren’t designed for that sort of mileage I thought I should do you the justice of really putting them to the test, and what better than a few 26 milers to see what they’re really made of! First impressions of these, indestructible!
