Replacement for TNF Nuptse Jacket!

I bought this jacket as a replacement for my TNF Nuptse which I've owned for five years. The new features such as the incorporated peaked hood, additional storage pockets, welded seams and elasticated cuffs, in my opinion make it a far superior jacket to the Nuptse. Another improvement is that it keeps you toasty without making you look like the 'Michellin Man' due to the 700 goose down fill. A must have for anyone who wants to look the part whilst keeping toasty this winter. Definitely worth the extra £60 to own this sensationl jacket!REVIEW BY: BazCos

I own the older version of this, which is a really nice mid-weight down jacket (I estimate approximately 250gms fill weight). The fully-welded baffles are fantastic, and aside from being hardwearing with minimal down seepage, a nice inadvertent benefit is that one doesn't look like the Michelin man, because the baffle junctions are smoother to the touch and the eye.That said, the old version which I own has a horrendously designed hood which allows wind to fly straight in, past the cheeks, down the neck and flushes out all warmth if you stand facing into even the slightest cold breeze. When I challenged them on this, TNF denied it was an issue and denied anyone else had ever complained about it.
A year later, it seems they DID secretly acknowledge it to be a design flaw and now the version you see for sale here has clearly been redesigned - in short, this is now looks to be the excellent jacket my version almost was.
If you don't need welded seams, also check out Rab's superb 'Neutrino PLUS', which I also own and adore.
