The North Face Women's Hedgehog GTX XCR III trail running shoes are the 2011 version of the very versatile and popular Hedgehogs which helped many a person run up slippery slopes and navigate treacherous descents.The Hedgehog 3's have all the technology from last years Hedgehog and more which is exciting to say the least. Gore-Tex as standard for keeping your feet dry and ventilated, Northotic Pro foot bed which has been updated with Poron ReSource heel and forefoot cushioning to keep your feet securely in place and absorb shock from any heavy foot fall or uneven surfaces.
The one of the many qualities of the Hedgehog III's is the weight, they are light for their purpose but have not lost any of their durability or dexterity, this allows you to push further and faster without being weighed down.
Trail running shoes need to be strong, light, supportive and responsive. The new updated Women's Hedgehog GTX XCR III are just the job.

The older Hedgehogs were always a bit small 'size for size' but this new version is different - that caught me out and I had to exchange them for the next half size down... my normal size - perfect! The shoes are excellent and the service from Webtogs was fantastic.REVIEW BY: Diane Smith

These walking shoes are so comfortable and support the foot brilliantly. Not used them in wet weather yet so can't comment on that aspect. Did a lot of research before buying these walking shoes from Webtogs and I found that the price was the cheapest around and fabulous service. I purchased these shoes for the 100km trailwalker... it rained most of the day and they kept my feet completely dry. After 22 hours of non stop walking I didnt get one blister, great purchase fantastic shoes! did have to get a size bigger then I normally wear so bear this in mind.REVIEW BY: poppet

I'm really impressed with the GTX's. In the past I've always bought Merrell and Salomon but these are definitely the most comfortable. I normally struggle with trainers as I'm a narrow 5.5 and most places do not stock this size. These fit like a glove, the sizing is perfect. They are really light and the locking laces mean they do not loosen if you are wearing them for long periods of time. Also they do not feel or look clumpy so I'll wear them all year round and with trousers or shorts. Would definitely recommend.REVIEW BY: SarahG

This is my first pair of trail shoes, which I bought for an expedition around Peru and the Amazon. So far I've only worn them for short walks around my local area (although they don't really need breaking in) and I've found them to be really comfortable. The sizing does run a little small. However, I went to a local outdoor shop and tried on various other shoes and sizes before purchasing these from Webtogs. Delivery was prompt and the shoes arrived very well packaged.REVIEW BY: Gurvy

The Hedgehog Trail shoes are fantastic - so much so, I now have 3 pairs! I do a lot of walking and some running, the shoes have been very comfortable from Day one - first time on completed a 15 mile walk - no problem. They provide great support, yet light weight. Highly recommend!

This is my second pair of hedgehogs and i love em. first pair lasted 5 years and two pregnancies. They dont need breaking in, just order at least a half size above your normal and tie them tighter around your toes. Fab!REVIEW BY: thebigweehag
