Resting just above the knee, the Women's Metropolis Parka from the North Face creates an exceptional and distinctive shield against the freezing weather while delivering exceptional warmth with 600 fill down insulation. The North Face Metropolis Parka has a snap-front closure to ward off wind gusts, and an insulated, adjustable, snap-off hood to coincide with the variable conditions.The snap off hood on the Metropolis Parka is insulated to the same standard as the rest of the Parka, and the brushed chin guard lining adds an extra special comfort level while at the same time protecting the lower face. A Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating ensures that any moisture simply rolls off the outer fabric maintaining a high degree of water resistance.

DWR- Durable Water Repellent, is a coating added to fabrics to help add to their water repellency and shed water and snow more effectively. |

Rip Stop -This is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern. It is woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Ripstop is used in construction of hot air balloons and yacht sails but in this case very effectively on outdoor clothing. |

Stitched Through Construction- Down garments and equipment constructed using a stitch through construction which helps keep down in place and reduce clumping. This construction is used mostly on mid to low weight down items. |

Cosy, Colourful, Perfect for Winter

Brilliant coat, good length, colour, hood and fit. Only down side is that it could do with ribbed cuffs to keep wind out, mobile phone pocket could do with being higher up and it zips up on different side than any other coat I've had! Still, it's the best I've seen on market and I look forward to enjoying it for many years. rWebtogs themselves were excellent - this is first purchase I've made and I was delighted with the service - I look forward to buying from them in the future.

The coat isn't as padded as I expected, which is good in one way because you don't look like the michelin man, but I did wonder how effective it would be in very cold situations. If you don't won't a really heavy puffy coat then this is the one for you! It's well made and looks great on. It falls just above the knee. I got the parka a few weeks ago just in time for the icy temperatures. Delivery was quick, great service. I tend to get chilly easily but the parka keeps me absolutely nice and warm. Very happy with this coat, its warm without being too puffy and big. The double zip function is a very good idea too. With regards to the sizing I think the coat is just a tiny bit bigger than the descriptive sizing provided by The North Face, so I guess you don't need to go up a size if your thinking about layers underneath. I wear it to work and also it is great out shopping, just a tee shirt underneath and your still warm and cosy. I am so happy with this coat - now if they did a version with a furry collar that would be super. Delivery was spot on! Arrived in a box in quick speedy time!REVIEW BY: Andrea
