It uses Windwall, which is North Faces own brand windproof fabric. The genius of the WindWall Fleece is in allowing a little bit of air through for breathability, but not so much that you can feel it, resulting in a seriously comfortable North Face Jacket whether climbing, hiking or walking.
Insulation wise, The Women's WindWall 1 Fleece Jacket is an excellent partner to a base layer or underneath a shell for when things get a bit nippy out there. Whether you are on Crib Goch or strolling in the Mendips, the The Women's WindWall 1 Fleece Jacket is a great soft shell to have at your disposal.

Weight: 538g / 19ozWINDWALL: Exclusive to The North Face, WindWall is a fleece fabric that retains the comfort, flexibility, and breathability of traditional fleece while eliminating wind chill. Traditional fleece tests at 200 CFM, a relatively porous rating compared to WindWall, which rates between 10 and 40 CFM. Some WindWall fabrics achieve wind resistance through their densely knit construction, while others use bonding and lamination technologies.
All WindWall fabrics cut 80 to 95% of wind, keeping the outdoor athlete warm while allowing enough airflow to ensure a dry and comfortable fit.
WindWall has proven a trusted year-round technology, as it shines as either a layering fabric or as standalone outerwear in milder conditions.

Great practical and light weight jacket that performs it's job well. Perfect for a day out in the hills yet equally stylish for wearing for a days shopping. It is a snug fit so need to think about this if intend to use for layering.REVIEW BY: RosieW

I'v had this for some months now and I've not been dissappointed with it. I should have ordered the medium rather than the large as I am a medium but it does mean I can wear it over jumpers and I like the slightly baggy look anyway. Definitely recommend it.REVIEW BY: canoe

A really brilliant windproof - I feel the cold and have worn jacket in very cold wind and felt fine! It is light in weight and very comfortable, but effective too. I bought one for my son the same evening mine arrived!He wears his all the time. Only slight surprise is how short my jacket is - I am short, and it comes only just below the waist, hence 4/5 rather than 5/5 rating as I would have prefered it a few centimetres longer.REVIEW BY: rugbywalker

I ordered this and a Berghaus equivalent and much preferred this North Face version. It does keep out the wind. It's a flattering cut and it's a cross between a fleece and a jacket - soft and velvetty on the outside, but structured and mesh lined. I can wear it with anything - it's an incredibly useful thing to have in my wardrobe. Plus the price on Webtogs was really good :)REVIEW BY: LozzaT

Love this!
I haven't stopped wearing this jacket.. I have loads of jackets, leather etc all good quality. But I only wear them once in a while..this one is smart and comfy and i love it to bits.

Bought as present and she loves it.
This was bought as a present and I have had nothing but good reviews from the wearer. For my part I thought it was a nice compromise between a standard fleece and a soft shell jacket. Might get one myself.

Brilliant!
I purchased this item to replace a similar lost North Face fleece. This one is much nicer! Lovely fit and is very comfortable.
