Western Mountaineering Highlite Long Down Sleeping Bag Information

Product Description

The Western Mountaineering HighLite Sleeping Bag will keep you warm and comfortable down to +2ºc and weighs a ridiculously light 485 Grams, making it an excellent choice for ultralight summer outings. Western Mountaineering uses only the best European goose down to build this 850+ fill bag. Everything in the HighLite's design is intended to reduce weight and increase compressibility including a remarkably light shell fabric, a half-length zipper and a streamlined cut. 20 x 20 denier Ripstop nylon provides even construction for a more downproof fabric, meaning the down is less likely to leak out of your bag like a goose shedding its feathers.

A silky smooth taffeta lining is soft on the skin and breathable for climate control inside your sleeping bag so you stay warm without cooking your goose. The HighLite sleeping bag features box baffle construction to better contain down and prevent it from shifting to create cold spots—this is very important in bags with less down, and Western Mountaineering does it best. You'll appreciate Western Mountaineering's meticulous craftsmanship when you're still sleeping toasty warm decades after you purchased this bag.

Tech details

Weight: 485g / 17oz

850 Fill Power

The top end of the market, offering exceptional warmth to weight ratios. 850 fill power is rare and expensive but gives expedition level performance or options for ultralight construction. The high loft down compresses well, keeping pack size down whilst standing up to the most extreme conditions

Rip Stop -

This is a lightweight nylon fabric with interwoven ripstop reinforcement threads in a crosshatch pattern. It is woven with a coarse, strong warp and filling yarns at intervals so that tears will not spread. Ripstop is used in construction of hot air balloons and yacht sails but in this case very effectively on outdoor clothing.

Packs Small

- Comes with it's own stuff sack so it packs small to take up less room in your pack and can be easily accessed in case of a downpour.

Stitched Through Construction

- Down garments and equipment constructed using a stitch through construction which helps keep down in place and reduce clumping. This construction is used mostly on mid to low weight down items.
