The North Face offers a fantastic range of Men's and Ladies Down Jackets. The styles range from technical "top of the mountain" designs to practical every day down jackets.

You can chose from super light face fabrics with high fill power down to Waterproof fully taped sealed jackets with lower fill power down. Down does not like getting wet and will take a long time to dry out once soaked so if you are looking for the performance and comfort of a down jacket but are likely to be out in wet weather chose one of the fully taped waterproof down jackets. The North Face use their Hyvent waterpoof fabric which is a PU coating consisting of a tri-component multilayer formula for waterproof protection, breathability, and durability. If you want a light compressible jacket for more technical mountain use you will be better off with one of the 700 fill power styles with micro fiber outer fabrics, these outer fabric are treated with a durable water replant finish which will protect the down from very light showers and spills.

Most North Face down Jackets will feature at least two hand pockets and one internal zip security pocket but you will see the addition of more external pockets and MP3 player internal pockets on the more urban designs. Some of the hand pockets will feature a fleece hand warmer fabric providing a toasty sanctuary for cold hands.

Some North Face down jackets feature a Hood with a Fur trim. Its important to note that this is synthetic fur and no animals were hurt in the production of these jackets. This fur adds a extra level of protection in snow storms keeping spin drift off your face.
