How we transmit your personal information

Personal information you enter on webtogs.co.uk is transmitted from page to page and from your computer, over the Internet, to our server. Any area of webtogs.co.uk that requires you to enter your personal information (with the exception of your email address), is run on a 256bit secure connection. This includes your account area, login screens and checkout.

Our SSL certificate is provided by Verisign, one of the most respected suppliers of digital security certificates in the world. If you are on a secure page, you can tell in two ways:

Firstly, your browser will show that you are on a secure connection. This varies, depending on your browser. Internet explorer turns the address bar green with a padlock in it. Firefox shows a green button at the start of the address bar which you can click on. The web address on all browsers will also begin "https", as opposed to the normal "http".

Secondly, you will see a Verisign logo on most of our secure pages. You can click this logo, to verify the connection is secure and that our SSL certificate is up to date and correct within the checkout pages.

Transmission of data over an SSL connection ensures that this data is secure and can't be intercepted and read by any unauthorised party.

I'm worried about entering my payment card details...

We take payment card security extremely seriously. In addition to the security steps we've outlined above. We take extra precautions with your payment card details. All areas of Webtogs.co.uk that accept credit card details are fully secure, when you complete your checkout with us, we don't store any of your credit card details on our server at all. In the hugely unlikely event that an unautorised person 'hacks' our database, there simply are no payment card details for them to steal.

Each time you enter your card details, or provide us with new details, we carry out a number of fraud-prevention checks including the Address Verification Service (AVS) and check the billing address you give us against the record with your bank.

Your password

We store your password in an encrypted format, within our database. When you log in to webtogs.co.uk, we encrypt the password you enter and match the encrypted value against the value stored in our database. For this reason, we can't email you a copy of your password if you forget it. Instead we email you a secure link that allows you to change your password to a new one.   As with any online password, we recommend that you use a unique password for this website, and that you change it often.
